Mine is still smaller :thrash:. The bowl was actually a flower vase I got as a gift some years back. I had my glacier make me the top with a hole in the center for the bamboo.
So I go from 1/2 gallon Bowl upto a 155 gallon Bow Front Tank.

That's cute. I got yelled at for wanting a small tank in in the bathroom.
You would thought it was WWIII.

I have a Betta in a 5 gallon at work and i personally think they should be in a big bigger bowl then the one you have Awilda. Mininum of 5 gallons :)

Guess what Mark! In their natural habitat they live in small puddles. So a 1/2 gallon bowl is huge to the betta. You want to keep your's in a 5 gallon or a 1000 gallons that's up to you. My betta appears to be happy. But I tell you what the day he tells me it wants a bigger place I will ablige. Since I don't lack for tanks.:flower:

Steve, it all depends on how big is your bathroom. And the betta is in the upstairs bathroom because the cats kept trying to get at him.:usa1:

well its a decent size I just wanted to do like a 10 gal on a shelf but oh well I have my 180 in the dinning room so I guess I won, one battle. I also lost to the idea of having a pool table/ dinning room table iin there as well.

I actually thinks that they don't feel right when they are in big tanks long term. However, I have seen no ill effects as to use a 5G for them though. 20G and bigger with other fish seems to give some problems long term.

too much room will stress them out.... they get all nervouse and tend not to move alot, or move around too much. They are laid and mature in rice patties in thailand.

Cool, someone else that knows the Betta's.:wink1:

They never last in my big tanks with all docile fish more then a week.:sigh:

Wingo, I didn't say I invented it. I just stated a fact, since I know how much this family likes stats...:sgrin:

Tony, go for it. They live approximately 2 years, sometimes longer. I guess it all depends on the age of the fish when you get it.

Steve, pool table - dining table. Only if you didn't mind wine & spaghetti stains on it.:D

Oh, and by the way guys this little guys actually belongs to my mom. She wanted a fish but not in her house, so it lives with me, and she see him when she visits.
So Chief, "I take care of my Mommy's Fish".LOL
