He was getting booed against the Mets the past two nights, and he was playing at home. I'm sure when he breaks the record people some people are going to applaud him and some will boo him, regardless of where he does it. I would say more will applaud him then boo him. The bottom line is that Barry Bonds only cares about himself, so he could careless if people boo him.

Hopefully Barry won't be in the record book too long as #1. If Alex Rodriguez can stay healthy and maintain somewhat of the pace he has, he should be able to surpass Bonds in the next 10 years.

barry bonds will go down as one of the scumiest baseball players in history next to shoeless joe and pete rose.i believe he will be booed, and good for hank aaron to not participate in a disgraceful record break.that record is always going to be aarons and ruth because throughout baseball history whenever bonds name comes up STERIODS will follow.

First of all Pete Rose should be in the hall of fame. You cannot take the man's achievement. He's the all time hits leader, there's no cheating there!

Bonds record will be tarnished, and rightfully so. Then again people cheered when Mark Mcguire broke records and he's one of the biggest disgrace that baseball has seen. I just don't know how these players are allowed to keep playing. Giambi admits it, yet is allowed to go on homer rampages. They should all be tested once a month. It's the only way to stop the cheating!

It's obvious Bonds will break the record. I just hope he lives a very very long life, so that he can see the all-time homerun hitter (notice I didn't say homerun king!) NOT make it into the coveted HOF (fitting, isn't it  ).

I also hope A-Rod has continued success so that he can surpass that self righteous, pompous, arrogant, cheater......soon!

alright not for nothing but as great of a talent arod is he is a pompous ass himself.he is an "all about himself" baseball player.sure he moved to 3rd base and gave up his position ,but the bonus "and believe me there was a bonus" and he wanted a ring.i would give my right arm for the money he received never mind a position.as for bonds we shouldnt of gave his name a mention in this site he is nothing but a cheating self worshipping a$$.if u have ever seen the movie MR.3000 thats him without the happy ending of everyone loving him at the end

A-Rod is also self centered. But even if he is half as self centered as Bonds, I'd still rather see him or ANYONE take down Bonds. Unfortunately, the only living player, at this time, with any kind of shot at this record is A-Rod. By a longshot.

Bonds' numerous negative attributes far surpasses any other player in the game.....IMO. I sooooo want him to fail. But that is highly unlikely at this time :(

Duke,

I don't understand what A-rod's "bonus" was? His contract was already signed under Texas. He offered to take less money to go to Boston.

Also, How can you consider Shoeless Joe one of the scummiest player of all time? Are you kidding me or what? Please comment.

shoeless joe blew the world series.he got all them team to go along with it so they could win a bet and make money for themselves.and you only have the story the yankees gave for the money on his contract,i believe he got a nice hunk of change for switching his position.if you think that he changed for a ring and the kindness in his heart your out of your mind
