I must have been so drunk cause i didnt see mayweather win that fight...or come close to a massacre or even fight...i do remember alot of rope walking...Mayweather was Scared...if anything it should have been a draw only cause De La Hoya should of did a little bit more to show the judges he won....split decision win is WHACK>> Ok BACk to UFC i go....

boxing is an art. Im sorry but mix martial art is cool, but it's just a bunch of guys brawling. I like watching the UFC and they do take a good beating. What mayweather did was body weaving and punch defusing using his upper body and neck. That's something you cannot do. Your comparing a chess game to a video game. There are rules to chess and that's why i respect boxing so much. Mayweather avoids using his legs and fought outer boxing. Meanwhile de la hoya just fought a in fight. If it was a setup fight then it's a good setup fight, because i couldnt even see most of the punches, because they were thrown with so much snap. in the end boxing is diffrent and dont compare it with UFC.

You have to expect this kind of fight with 2 skilled boxers.

I do believe both boxers held back alot. Mayweather should have went out more...for all the **** talking he did.
Can't make mistakes with De La Hoya's power though. DLH should have used his jab more, but he had to watch out for Mayweathers speed.
It is a chess match, trying to break into each others defense.



Boring fight but Mayweather got the "W" & it sets up for a rematch.:tired:

there's just as much "art" to what the UFC guys are doing. I think they have more options than boxers. two guys in a ring beating the crap out of each other is a brawl no matter what the rules are

Should have been a draw! Neither one proved anything! Did PrettyBoy do any damage to Oscar? I mean if you want the title and plan on retiring, you'ld want to go out in style. Big dissapointment!! Two professional was afraid to take the risk! Lastly, Mayweather Sr needs to get off that crack!! He said the one who should have won, was the one throwing more punches! Unless, he felt guilty that DLH provided him with a ringside seat and a hotel room. But, I did see more punches coming from DLH......when Mayweather, smiled it was not because DLH had hurt him with his punch, but indicated he got hit! Case close.....

Did you happen to see a landed punch ratio in that match? i think mayweather landed twice as much punches, including many counter punches. DLH is very good and i wish he won. I hate mayweather in many ways, but mayweather is in his prime, where DLH was out of training for a while. DLH hit him, but it wasnt enough to take him down. Neither of them went down therefore all the punches thrown had no effect. Meanwhile Mayweather landed more punches and thrown less.

They need to stop using compu box and go old school....use 3 drunk men to judge the fight....compu box counts punches landed and this and that...judges need to judge the fight on how the fight is being fought...if vegas was a little bit smarter they wud have made it a draw and make more money for Part 2 and Part 3.....Pfftt...he gonna retire..what a :cat: he got away with a win and knows DLH gonna bring it to him next time so he rather leave undefeated....he just pissed me off even more...

dave MMA is as REAL as you can get to a real fight without throwing in the concrete floor and a couple of chairs and bottles. Thats a sport that shows who is a true fighter and thats why you cant compare it to boxing. The guys in MMA have to train boxing, kick boxing, wrestling, JJ... they have to be fast and strong. boxing just has more limitations, i can't see how that would make it more of an art....lol, we could make a new sport where we just fight with our left pinky extended trying to poke the other guy in the eyes, every other limb is tied up and we would have to hop around on one foot...oh, and only one eye is exposed

you have less controversy when you leave more up to the fighters and less to the judges,
