(READ: you WILL get wet!!!!!)

have a good idea of how deep the water is where you are - if the water is especially clear, it can be much deeper than it looks, and if it is muddy, you might not realize how shallow it actually is... Learn about the river you're in.

http://www.kittatinny.com/

Kittatinny, Jim Thorpe etc are all good at this time of the year due to the rain we had (and also good snows) - they also have dam release days which are good as well.

I rafted this river for years with groups of college coed's and piloted the groups - what a blast!

Cold this time of the year, though - early July is best for the Delaware.

Moose river in PA is also good and of course any Class IV would be a whoot - better bring your b@11$ though (sorry Liz) cause this time of the year, you're gonna get bounced.

Best advice - choose a shorter trip than you think you can raft - more often than not, you'r body can't muscle it and a mistake on a class IV is no joke

I hand caught a samon(I think) and lots of the babies in PA. Thinking of catching more but got scared when I saw a cat fish size of my kyack. Fear of being stung by it. I realeased the big one and the small ones only last three four days in my tank.
