for the past month or two we've had a great deal of n00bs showing up and posting crazy threads for each and every question they have.

#1 I think the mods deserve a round of applause for moving so many threads to the proper forums and getting the right information (many times in the forum of links) posted

#2 I think a few new stickys are needed for reenforce the need to read, research and reread before jumping into the hobby.....

#3 use a search bar, thats what its for!

welcome to MR n00bs

(Thought this was funny....)

the word "n00b" is used mostly by people who call themself "pro", but really act like small children. n00b origins from the word noob or newbie, but they are used in a different way. apart from the word "newbie" which is used when talking about new players or "noob" which is used about bad players "n00b" can be used against higher leveled players/higher scores who are acting lame..

level 40: "kekekekekeke i pwn j00 n00b"
level 20: "wtf?"
(level 40 kills level 20, the level 40 is being a n00b)

getting the time to do it is tough. anyone who wants to lend a hand is welcome :)

What I think that would be really helpful (and I am sorry that I am not able to help you with it, being a newbie) is specific equipement suggestions for different types of set ups. Many of the beginner articles that I read, talked about things generally and I still ended up feeling like I had no clue which thing to purchase.

Yo, how about when new members sign up, they get a popup everytime they click a link to a post. The pop can be a reminder to read the stickies. Hell, everytime they start a new thread there should be a user agreement thingie with all newbie info that they have to click.

Noob's

most people that are new to here dont know how to navigate the site and also even if linked to a refferance thetre is nothing like having your own question answered. always a variance in questions. hell i still dont use search. plus if all of us noob's stop asking the same questions this board would go as dead as hvrk's site with no new post and ect. people want to feel their questions are being helped and idea's towards them, not always what others have done. just my opinion. { i am one of the one's who asked questions that have been asked a million time's before

...everybody learns differently - some do research, some need personal attention, need to ask questions. some are happy asking in chat, some on threads, others in PMs -

what's great about MR is that it accomodates everyone -- and thank goodness there are folks at all levels w/in this hobby who are patient enough to accomodate all of us learners!

:)

-- i love it here.

we had this idea to write a program that would take a bunch of questions then give some suggested set ups including specific equipment. again time issues have prevented this from happening.
we have a lot of great ideas for the site, just getting them done is difficult :sad2:

I am one of the first to understand that people learn differently, I also understand that there are confusing things in this hobby that even a scientist can not understand without others explaining it to them. I do however find that the multiple questions from the same people that when they don't get the answer they want to hear ask again almost the exact same way in another thread extremely annoying.

Oh and Awilda I like your new sig :)

I totally agree with you Brendan. I find quite a few extremely annoying. I also have very little patience, which is why I read and keep going. Also why I am not a teacher. I get exasperated when I have to explain things more then once, although I also have moments when something has to be explained more then once to me.ROFLMAO:lol_large :groupflip :grouphug:
And sometimes :iamwithst ,and other times I'm the stupid one.:tongue1:
