Problem with a member.... NYreefNoob

I really dont know where to post this up but this is really pissing me off. As some of you may know, NYreefNoob posted up a skimmer for sale. I recently purchased this from him and picked up at the Frag Swap for $75. First issue is that he told me there was no cracks on it but when I got the skimmer there was a crack on the collection cup. He did show me because he claimed it wasnt there and noticed it now. It wasnt cracked through but a surface crack so its no leaking through(thats ok). My next issue was that it didnt come with a o-ring.... fine. I went online and purchased one. Now here is my major issue. There is no lid. He promised to ship out that monday of the frag swap which he didnt and tells me he didnt ship untill wednesday. He told me he shipped out UPS and today is Tuesday. 5 business days later and still nothing not even a tracking number. I've sent many PMs to him with no response and I know he reads them because I see him online. It doesnt take nomore than a day to ship within NY.
All I want is either the lid or a partial refund so i can purchase one. I see replacement collection cups with lids selling for $35. This was my first transaction on MR and it isnt going to well...........

Feedback forum is the best way to accomplish something like this also you can PM a mod and see if one of them can help.

Quick,

With the spring upon us and life getting in the way, I'd give it a little more time before I started lambasting someone (not saying you're doing that).

I would give it a little more time for the member to respond - who knows, maybe it fell over in the car, cracked the cup and slid the lid to a place where only sunglasses and single socks go.

The member could also be on vacation.

There is not much to accomplish by posting a thread.
99.9 % of the times it gets into a heated argument between the 2 parties & the thread gets shut down.

Feedback is the best way to inform other members of a bad transaction.

Do give it some time....

he claimed he shipped lastweek wednesday and doesnt have the tracking number? that doesnt sound right to me plus it doesnt take this long to ship within NY. I see him on the forums everynight with no PMs returned! Last PM I got was on the 18th. I'm not trying to turn this into an argument. I'm just posting a thread so he will respond back since he hasnt through PMs. BTW, that sunday he contacted me saying he had the lid and i know hes ignoring my PMs because he still posts up on peoples thread almost everyday.

If he's not posting to your PM;s what makes you think he's going to respond here? Less likely I would think -

Not trying to defend, but think it through before you post - it IS possible he sent it USPS without a tracking number -

It is also possible he wrote the incorrect Zip and it's being returned to his house - mistakes happen - give it a few days -

Also, once the transaction is "complete" use the feedback feature to inform members if your dissatisfied with your transaction.

I am here everyday and I can go a week or 2 without even realizing that I have PM's to check. Sometimes they are easy to overlook when you aren't expecting anything. I would say PM him or E-Mail him and see if you can resolve this that way. Again you can post your experience with this trade in the feedback forum as well.

im sorry i have contacted you sooner. it was mailed ups today. ill see if i can get a tracking number. been tied up at work and havent gotten chance, sorry for the delay

That was 04/18/07...... He said he shipped by UPS. I've been asking since then for a tracking number....

If he shipped out then its my mistake... but i need that tracking number in order to see if the package is at UPS. Otherwise I wont know whats going on with it.....
