I am confused - do you all actually believe we are beeding hitchhikers in our tanks? I mean, they came from the ocean - there are too many tanks out here in the MR world full of pests looking awesome -
As for giving back - a couple of years ago, I gave a bunch of acro frags back to ORA when they lost thier propagation system to the Hurricane - not a natural reef, but certainly trying to save the worlds reefs.
As for the natural cause, this is all part of the cycle and the worlds way of adjusting to something - wherther or not it's global warming, I am not in a position to say, but the reefs will grow back.
Noods - there is a faculty member at Pace who is building artificial reefs in one of the carribean islands whose coral reefs have been destroyed by the hotel industry and the governments lackof regulations on dumping wastewater into the ocean at the shoreline - unfortunately, frags won't do it for them, they need colonies and have been getting them from other regions in the world to build on.
I guess the good news (not that there really is any) is that all this dead coral will be for sale as dry base rock in the near future -
There has to be a better way . . . .
