~18" Black Arowana for sale.
$125 or Best offer. Raised him from a baby with sac :(. Want to make sure he goes to a good home.

Must pick up in Bronx and bring your own bag/bucket. You'd have to figure out how you'll transport him.

Trying to take down tank.

Phil's seen him.

OK Wingo. What kind of system will you put him in?

Money is not really the issue, I just want him to go to a good home. You can come by and take a look and give me .02 cents for him for all I care as long as he's taken care of properly.

135 racetrack tank eventually. I have to accomodate the medium 4" cichlids to other tanks first. I am afraid they got swallowed by your new fish. But then the 4" African zebra may kill my other yet even smaller cichlids in other tanks. That's why I need some time to think which fish goes to which tank.

Wingo, since I raised my arowana since a baby and housed it with tankmates all his life, I doubt he will eat anything bigger than 2". I have a couple of gouramis in the tank with him, a tiger oscar, and an angel fish. He chases them around sometimes but thats about it. It's pretty amazing how much of a community fish he is. People are always amazed when they come over and see him with his tankmates, especially the small yellow guoramis.

So what does it like to eat in your care?

Pellets, some comet feeders (less than 1") and believe it or not, hotdogs (low-fat, chicken), lightly soaked in hot water so the grease is out and made into 1" long segments.

His daily/ semi-daily staple is hot dogs. He get comet feeder fish on the weekend. Sometimes I stuff pellets in his hotdog (every other feeding).

I'm glad you're asking these questions. If you have more just call me. Will PM you my number.

I am not surprised. In the wild, the big silver ones (couple feet long-normally under 4ft) will eat live birds too!

I think the largest ever one recorded is 9+ feet that a Brazilian try to smuggle it into US by airplane(don't ask me why airplane and how-cannot remember the news some 15 years ago.)

I will call you to dicuss about your fish in details.
