in the past month i've spent about $500 on stuff....

phosban reactor and the media

two books RA vol 3 and pocket fish guide

all new filters gauge and ro membrane for my ro unit, including a new dual tds meter (my old one broke)

clean up crew

corals from from group buys

MR bag and glue

glass baffle and silicone with silicone gun for sump

fans for new canopy (wood and everything else involved with new canopy coming soon).....

all stuff i shouldve had already.

if one was to start the right way with all good equipment, and patience you'd only end up spending for salt and food every few months. i say that because if you take care of your initial livestock you can usually trade or sell to buy new live stock.

this doesn't include electricity used to run tanks.

I don't add it up. some months I spend nothing, other months it's hundreds.

there are always things I want to buy for the tank. If I added up all the upgrades I'd like to get it might be around 10K. that's the conservative number. if money grew on trees then that figure would be more like 100K ;)

When I get my annual statement from my cc for my yearly activity, I'm always relieved that Marine Depot is always under Fuel/Gas.

i just want to know how much money do people spend on their tanks.weekly or monthly.im about 300 a month:sigh:

$300 a month! Must be a republican! Horrible the havoc humans will wreak on the environment just to have a pretty display in their homes. :(

Seriously though I try not to keep track. It certainly varies a lot month to month. I don't really buy any livestock (knock on wood) because I don't need to. Equipment and constant upgrades eat up my reefing budget.
