With the way nyc is so rediculously overpriced, is there any neighborhood in jersey or upstate with a good school district and decent commute that is still affordable?

4 - 5 bedrooms in central jersey are running @ $650. Just a little out of my range.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Anywhere close to city in NJ is very expensive. 2 BR condo goes for $400+, edgewater or newport are like $500+. If you are looking for 4 to 5 bedrooms and decent commute, it's going to be hard to find one around your budget :(

Goodluck.

What's the furthest your looking to go? I moved to Orange County 3 years ago. I drive into work everyday (Battery Park) takes me an 1:05 in the morning and about and 1:30 in the afternoon. Sometimes it does take longer never more than two hours, except for certain holiday Fridays, then it can three hours. That's only happened a couple of times.
School districts are very good. Taxes are a pain.

CG22,
Shoot me a pm and I would be happy to discuss. There are lots of areas in NW NJ that I work in that would fit your needs and budget. I would be happy to discuss.
Thanks,
Ken
