Best Hospital in NY for cardiac treatment

hey guys, can someone recommend a hospital in new york or westchester.
my mom has to get an an angiogram, she has been going to white plains hospital but is not sure if they are good for cardiac work, I'm looking for the best place in the area.

Cornell or Columbia-Presbyterian (on 168th st) would be your best bets in NYC.

thanks, I should have mentioned my dad had a bad experience at columbia-presbyterian with his heart surgery. so they probably would not want to go back there. I have friends who work there also.

Mt sinai hospital there is a dr there that i renowned for his work he if from spain and i have seen him in many videos when i was a nursing student. there is also a hosp in long island dont remember the name but thats where my mother in law had gotten hart surgery done, but ur best bet is MT SINAI HOSPITAL, ill ask my husband for the name of the head cardiologist.

DR. Valentin Fuster at Sinai is amazing. More important than the hospital is the doctor guiding the care, making the decisions and doing the procedure. Depending what she needs- bypass, cardiac cath or just meds. he can guide you. You will always be in better hands at a university hospital like Sinai, NYU, Cornell, Columbia but the doctor making decisions is key. good luck

johnathan the best cardiac hospital in NY state is st. francis in long island. they have the best exclusive heart program in the north east. ask any doctor about it. i know from personal experience

the same team worked on my father, but the person who closed put a stich in his lung, it took them almost two weeks to figure out what was wrong. they had to open him up again to solve the mystery :irked:

Don't know if you want to cross the bridge. My wife gets treated by Dr. Berkowitz here at HUMC. She was on the path to get a heart transplant until we started seeing him and now she has been 2 years with her heart. The defibrillator has never gone off again.

Correct. St. Francis does have an amazing cardiac center, but once again-cardiologist, cardiac surgeon, interventional cardiologist is the most important step. All of these places are excellent and complications occur even to the best. If they deny it , they are either lying to you or are not busy enough.

That really sucks - unfortunately, mistakes can be made even by the top doctors. I think I would like to repeat what OBTEPPER said - it all depends on the doctor and their team.

Jon if you go to Sinai, park in the parking garage, don't park on the street, it's worth the money to have your car there when you come out of the hospital, TRUST ME!!

Jhale my wife worked as a nurse at Cornel (New York Hospital on York and 70th).She worked in a cardiac stepdown unit for about 10 years if you need a name af a doctor I could get one for you. She thought that was one of the best to have any kind of heart work done and not just cause she worked there,but because she knows the doctors and she has seen their work and results.Good luck with everything and lmk if you need anything Tim

just spoke to some colleagues, whom I trust without hesitation. They recommend Fuster, Ira Parness and Samin Sharma if cardiac cath is needed. good luck
