The has been running for over a year. An pretty sure it was leveled he's very **** about his tanks. It was pre-owned.

The glass looks like it shattered and just didn't just let go. I would think something had to hit it.
How long is that tank? Looks like there is no center brace. If the pressure was bowing the glass out, it may finally have just hit its stress point and fractured.
Otherwise it definitely looks like something hit the glass either from the inside or outside.

Would the water pressure on a not-braced tank with a deep scratch be enough to cause a massive shatter?

Your right it never had a center brace. The stress could have caused it to bow out.

Maybe it was a regular tank amd someone took the whole top braceing off to make it look like a rimless

Think it could of been the power heads constantly pushing water on the front glass and there's no brace on the tank. Look at the way the glass broke right in front of both power heads. This is just Imo.
