Range hood installation

Anyone on here that can install a range hood?
It's a wall range hood and the installation is on an inside wall so prob needs to go up through attic and to the roof. I can prob do myself but nervous about the roof.

This is a net new install, not a replacement.

Why not run ductless. It's a lot cheaper and much less work just need to run power to it

You mean in recirculating mode? We had a microwave that did that but wasn't really effective. The microwave has since broken so we were planning to get an actual range hood.

forget the recirculating, their useless.
go up into your attic and out the soffit under the rain gutter.

Edd, I thought about doing that which would prevent me from cutting the roof. I got one quote to go through the roof for $450. Almost same price for hood.
