Anyone been to the grand canyon and have suggestions on where to stay and which rim is best to visit?

I went to Grand Canyon but was a helicopter ride from Las Vegas. Was truly amazing. Loved the entire experience. After the flight you can purchase a DVDs of your whole flight with conversation included. Stayed at Mandalay Bay.
