Why leaving Nextel? I had Nextel and the biggest mistake I made was to leave them for t-moblie. Nextel is a bit pricey, buy you can get reception on the damn moon! Heard Verizon was pretty good as well, but also a bit pricey. Forgot to mention, city employees (civil servants) get i believe a 10% discount or something like that on verizon/nextel. Saves you the few dollars that you pay in taxes.

I use to like nextel too, but the quality of the phones has dropped big time, and the service i use to enjoy no longer exists. Ever since they merged w/ sprint i've had nothing but troubles

Honestly, going from nextel to T-mob was a mistake, i find them to be the new AT&T.

Im switching to verizon because i can get tripple the minutes a month and pay the same as i did w/ nextel. I'm thinking about getting a PDA this time because i'll need one down the road i'm sure.

T-Mobile dones't have great service in Staten Island.. As for Verizon, they are a very good service, Rated #1. Then it will be Cingular.. As for Nextel.. What kind phone are you using Barebucta??? If you are using the i870, there's lots of problem on that phone.. And you are right, ever since they merge with Sprint, their service is getting suck.. Cuz sprint is only conceretrate on their product only..
If you want the PDA phone from verizon, get the Motorola Q, also, if you work for the either city or state, you also get discount too.. :)

I work for VZW... shoot me a PM anytime. I'm in Queens though. Although I hate to admit it, because they're such a huge greedy corporate monster, I would have to say Verizon wins hands down in reliability...
First call rate attempts (both in and outgoing)
Highest SMS success rate
Call clarity-depending on equipment
Quickest DATA network- broadband EVDO
Yes, low-end plans are a bit pricey, but if you're a big talker, the higher end plans are priced very reasonably.
