Looking for help finding fresh blue claw crabs

Looking to find 5+ inch blue claw crabs. looking to buy 4-5 dozen for this sunday, anyone have any suggestions?

come out to long island and go crabing for a couple of nights lol its 50 a day limit per person

I think I heard something recent on the news about local blue crab. Something about a bacteria, I think.

yeah if they die bacteria grows at a rapid rate but if you cook them alive then there is no risk

is it from Maguire air force base? why would the have agent orange and it says NJ rivers nothing about Li and the D.E.C. here has stopped and checked my crabs before and never mentioned anything about it being illegal or unsafe to eat.

It is not the coast of New Jersey, more the Newark Bay, Arthur Kill waterways. There has been advisories about eating crabs from these areas for years.

I assume I've never heard anything because I'm from the island. I looked into it blue claws on long island are completely safe to eat besides the bacteria I mentioned earlier. I also learned they have the strongest claws out of any crab in the world, pretty cool?
