Anyone weld?

Brace bar on my sofa broke off. Pretty clean break
Guessing its aluminum, cheap steel?

Am I crazy? I really like the sofa.
Can I do this myself?
Or just have someone do it?

Reason why I need it is the whole sofa sags and sits lower without it.
It's killing me!

Get a strong plate, cut it to size and drill some holes and attach it with bolts
