hey everyone i live in Central NJ. I was wondering if anyone here can recommend a good tree company to cut down 2 approx. 80' oak trees near my house and top off 2 other trees on the outside of my fence. I'm getting to the point of climbing it myself and cutting it down.

The quotes have been between 2k and 3k. (i would cut my leg off before i pay those prices)

to rent a bucket truck it would run me 1k plus chainsaw and stump grinder...

Anyone know anyone trust worthy and insured?

When I was making ATV trails at my place upstate I used tannerite. Just make sure you put it on the side of the tree in the direction you want it to fall.

i had estimates upto 3k. i offered this guy cash. he did it for $1200.
cash talks tony.
im 60 miles from you so i don't think he will travel.

I've been trying to get 2 trees cut down for the last 2 years. I've gotten multiple quotes. Ranging from $700-$2000 a tree. They are big pine trees that happen to be near a power line. I had 4 in total but I got tired of waiting and rented a bucket truck for $250 and had them cut down. I should of did them all at once but the guy who cut them only had time for the 2. This was last year and now I can't seem to find him.

Just to give you a ball park number. For an Oak tree that size you can pay two different prices. First one can they use a bucket lift to cut down the tree without climbing tree that would be a few hundred dollars cheaper than to climb the tree to cut it down. So a good price would be about 1k for a tree and stump removed. Mult that by 2 is 2k. So if you got a better price you did very well. Other wise 1,500 to 1,750 a tree of that size is going rate.
