Funny story...........
A little history first. My daughter is an avid swimmer (not surprised, are you ). Anyway, she's 16 years old right now and has been swimming competitive for 12 years. She has been on the local club team for all 12 years and also varsity for the last 6 years. Needless to say, she's passionate about her sport. I just didn't realize how passionate until last night.
Now we go current......She goes to practice 6 days a week with 2 morning practices (6am-7am) thrown in there. All this for varsity. Her club team practices after varsity practice ends everyday. Yesterday she told me that she was planning to do a triple practice today.
With that being the plan she went to bed last night at 10pm. Fell asleep before her head hit the pillow zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
At 11:30 last night (1.5 hrs after zzzzzzzzzzzzz) my wife and I heard some movement downstairs. No biggie, my daughter being the only other person in the house was probably just moving about. Next thing we hear is some major activity going on.
I called down to my daughter and asked what she was up to? Her reply at 11:30pm was I'm going to practice! She had already brushed her teeth, put her contact lenses in, put on her bathing suit, put on her sweats, made her lunch and was about to get in her car and go to practice........6 hours EARLY.
I told her it was 11:30pm and showed her the clock. Her response was a belly laugh and turning bright red from embarassment. :lol2: She was totally awake and totally unaware that it was still the night before. She had only slept 1.5 hrs.
If any of you know the Dave Matthews song Ants Marching, this was the epitomy of that song. Poor kid had to go back to bed and sleep off all that energy.
Father of the real swimmer :inlove:
