Im looking to get a few cameras installed in my house and outside .does anyone know of a good trustworth installer .I would like to be able to control them and veiw them on my phone and computer ..

Go to tiger direct or brickhousesecurity.com and get yourself what you need , all of these units are simple as can be and a chimp can follow the simple setup instructions , I just did my brother in laws house and it took a whopping 45 minutes to throw the pre- terminated cables and screw down the 4 cams and wrap it all up.

Even amazon and walmart have these units as well as harbor freight tools . Couple hundred bucks and you get a good system that will do the job .........EASY !!! If you do get them installed professionally make sure the person is an insured installer and is registered with the better business people.

Personally I would give it a shot myself if I was you , either way good luck brotha.

I would never buy a surveillance system from any of the places you have suggested. All of them are garbage honestly. Most cameras look similar during the day however at night is where the true colors show. 4 camera install taking 45 minutes? I have a hard time believing it looks good at all. Wires exposed etc... you get what you pay for in this industry as with most. So spend the money and get a good system. Sucks when someone breaks in and you wish you had a camera that could see them.

Well 45 minutes yes because he is a contractor and I do this for a living so you don't have to believe me cause the job is done and no cables are exposed.

In the camera industry you can get systems that require maximum abilities of PTZ and have terabyte hard drives to record by motion only or continuously throughout the day ....if he's asking for help here it may be because he's not looking to go through a super professional layout with night vision of insane distances so he can watch his back yard and his neighbors as well, in fact some people actually complain if your recording the property that they own rather than be thankful .

If he wants a easy to use system with some bells and whistles those sites will do if he wants to do a serious casino or corporate style security layout then he may want to look into more serious sites for his needs .....bottom line the camera industry is not rocket science and anyone can mount a camera and setup the focus if need be with a small monitor on his wrist or a hand held one.

Moral of the story ...........buy a system you want and give it a shot at installing it , you will be amazed at its simplicity , trying to save another reefer some money .....that's never been a bad thing .

Well the good thing is that most of the decent companies offer 24 installation online support because this is the part people are scared of the most ......IP address , and this that or the other , the manuals are really cake to read and they are very well detailed and on the phone they will get you going fairly easily , I wish I was closer to do it for you bro, but if you want to just go to costco just to get familiar with what they have and ask the guys all the questions you may have , best buy, walmart, etc .. Then you can make your choice online with better knowledge of all the terms and requirements , but it's totally doable .

It all depends on what your looking for and what features appeal to you , there are sooo many companies from toshiba to nec , nighthawk to defender , weather proof , tamper proof first start with what your expecting from the camera , then Find a camera that has the features your looking for , distance , clarity , high definition, enhanced night vision .. Etc ,
Then you want to decide on dvr functions and hard drive size and network ability , if you want pm me what your looking to do and I will shop it with you .

For the outdoor units, try Vivotek. I have the IP8331 and it performs well. Foscam cameras are inexpensive indoor units. For the video surveillance software Security Monitor Pro is fairly priced and works with most camera models. ​
