Macy's is murdering Fish!!!!! right here in NY

My friend works in the visual department of the Macy's in Herold square in Manhattan NY. She came home on Friday to tell me that one of the departments that is hosting the flower show is using life reef fish to accent the flowers. ( yellow Tangs , two or three in the same vase, Angel fish, clown fish, ect...) but is putting them in Vases with out filtration, heat, light, food, or anything else that supports life!!!!! She was very upset about this. She went right to the manager of the department and demanded that they return the fish to Petco where they were purchased. The manager laughed in her face and asked her if she was PETA. WTF is that?
Today when she got to work, two of the fish were already dead, and did not even make it though the weekend. There intent is to keep this going for 4 weeks and just keep replacing the fish as they die!!!
Macy's is a being irresponsible and careless and I think they should know about it. So Ive been calling them up telling them this is crazy and should not be aloud. If anyone of you has a moment please call, tell them how crazy it is and maybe they will realize what there doing is stupid and careless

Wow she should get a picture of this and post it on the internet. like a site like reddit. the internet can be very persuasive when it comes to things like this. If they need homes I'm sure multiple people on the forums would be happy to rehome the fish.

That's a great Idea, reddit is perfect for this.

I'm waiting on her to get me a few pictures as soon as she can. Ill post them here too.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll call and e-mail today! Petco is also responsible for this.
PETA is people for the ethical treatment of animals. They got some publicity when members through red paint at women wearing fur coats.

Wow this is really shameful act on Macy's end... Is there anyway we can reach out to Macy's and or go to Macy's Twitter or Facebook and post what is going on and add some pictures of the dead fish?? This is really sad that they don't see these beautiful fishes life as valuable but promote their business....

Well I read the original thread again and since this is flower show and water in the vase must be freshwater, I am sure they are not promoting any saltwater flowers..

Thanks for sharing this with us, Can you find out if water in the vase is freshwater or saltwater? This will be even worst if they are being added in freshwater...

Impossible!! I have confirmed several people that have called so far. I hope that they only said that to try and keep it from causing a media firestorm.
