This is true. Kres gets amazing colors under ai led, Randy under radions but they are a very small minority. I've been around the last year trying to like led and even trying a radion g2 for a while. I find the more powerful LEDs are damaging to sps In low nutrient environments. I'm not quite sure what the reason is. Maybe par hot spots from direct focus, maybe uv... I don't know. Until one of these big companies addresses this issue in depth (I don't accept acclimation as an answer over several months), I will not be spending any money on a fixture, or several actually. This is based on my observation of seeing many reefs and noticing common characteristics.
If you have a difference of opinion please direct me to a system to see. Like I said, I want to have led over my tank for low heat, low profile, and low energy, but my priority is sps color and I'm not willing to have crap color for several months if not longer.

I have no experience with sps or leds. And im leaning towards t5 persoanlly when I start with sps. But that 800g tank over at vivid aquariums is having great success with radions on half their tank. Just a thought.

Mh lights are like tube tv.... dubs! flat tv screen leds are are the future! similar technology. Come see me. I have great coral grow using radions G2.Corals pop under leds.Dubs step up to flat screen over your tank lol
It's really too soon to tell, but it looks like there won't be too many changes. They're still maintaining two separate product lines, processes, divisions.. what's the point here? I'm sure they'll have stronger buying power with the "company" being larger but will we see that trickle down to the consumers? Highly doubtful. If anything, prices will increase due to less competition. Hopefully they'll combine research and development efforts but I'm not sure about that either.
