Shark Week!!!

Shark week is one of my favorite time of the year on discovery!!!

To kick start Shark Week, Discovery aired a documentary named "Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives".

Did anyone catch it last night? To me this seems a bit outrageous and overdramatized! Any thoughts?

Yea, the wife and I saw it last year and were stunned at its massive size. We did a bit of research online and read a couple different articles. Everything we looked at seems to agree with it being real. If it is that thing is incredible.

Its shark week? I thought that passed already. I know that megladon "shockumetary" is definitely not real. It aired originally last shark week and they recieved alot of bad press over it. Completely fake and not what discovery channel is known for.

Youre completely correct shark week is in august. Nice to know that it was all fake and yes thats when i saw it as well august 2013. Just like the mermaid one they gave yesterday that brand started a thread for.

Discovery shows the same shows every year for shark week. With the exception of that fake megladon documentary.

National geographic started their own shark week last year.

I hope so too! I was under the impression that it passed but I've gotten some mixed messages that this week is .. thought that posting here would help me figure it out

I did see this documentary last night with my hubby and there was so much information and speculation that I dont know what to think. I will say this once the earth was thought to be flat and when "Columbus" suggested otherwise people thought it was not real. Not throwing a dig JV .. just that when something seems to be unbelievable we are trained to think its not true .. but does that in fact make it not true?

If megalodon exsists ... WOW!! That's all I can say.

It exists there is large ocean out there a fish that size don't have any predators so it just keeps growing I believe it still out there

Oh no im not just being sceptical. Im sure theres a whole sea of creatures that have yet to be dicovered. But that particular documentary actually made headlines for its outrage. Me and the wife were fully invested in it till the end. We were just completely let down by how cinematic it became. The next day the headlines were out and confirmed our suspicions. Every aspect of the so called "documentary" was fake. All the info and stories were all scripted. Discovery then put out a damage control statment explaining that it wasnt their intent to mislead people but that it was intended to be entertainment. Which is unfortunate cause I look to them for facts. If I wanted cheap reality show laughs id stick to watching Bravo. That said, I wouldve loved for it to be true. That would be one of the greatest scientific dicoveries of our generation. Along the lines of finally dicovering the whereabouts of bigfoot. But regretfully it was completely fake. As of now Megladon is in fact extinct and there are no scientist actively trying to prove otherwise.

Not to go off topic but river monsters is the shizzzzz and it's real
