Has anyone ever had their tub pro refinished or done it themselves?

Which one is more worth it? I prefer to change out the tub itself but in some cases there was old-fashion plumbing and rather leave it and the tub itself is nice and deep so we just have it refinished and I notice all they do is not even sand it, they place some sort of paper that molds to the tub in one piece, then spray it all down with white pool paint. In the end, can usually see the edge of paper sitting on the original surface, albeit painted over.

For simpler jobs I've also used the $35 can of porcelain touch-up paint, but its very prone to staining even just from oxidative or abrasive cleaners.

Tubs are essential to servicing aquaria in an apartment/condo setting where utility sink aint available.

Has any of yous ever refinished your tub (or sink) and how did it turn out?

steel tubs look horrible refinished and it's worth just to replace them...they are about the same or cheaper than the re-finish, depending on the tub...cast iron look brand new with a re-spray and are worth it compared to the price of new and the work involved because they are so heavy...they also make tub covers which IMO look cheap...
