Being the Grand Pa (or Pop Pop as she calls me) I will be babysitting today. My wife is working (someone has to support me) my Son In Law is going away on business, my Daughter is 9 months pregnant and unable to pick up Greta, so it is up to me. This is not my first babysitting gig and I enjoy being with her. I am also ready, I have my drop cloth out for the diaper changing thing, which is always the top of my day. Now she is a little sick so she also pukes every day. You can't really be prepared for that except to run after her with towels, just in case.
Greta is a lousy eater and not gaining the weight her Doctor wants her to. (My doctor tells me the opposite thing)
Like many people we now have the Christmas tree up and the only thing Greta likes to eat is anything on a Christmas tree which is not supposed to be on her diet. Yes, today is going to be fun. I have been exercizing my fingers for the hours of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and the "Again" she always says after ward. The last time I babysat, she was in the car seat in the back and I was doing the Itsy Bitsy Spider over my head for her. You should have seen the looks I was getting from the other drivers.
Greta lives in Manhattan in the West Village so she is used to crowds and apartments, but I live on Long Island and she has more room to roam. It is raining and snowing here now, but we are still going to the park because I just can't hold her all day away from the Christmas tree. I hope she comes pre packaged in a snow suit.
