Penny the Puppy

By popular demand...

These are from the day we brought her home, September 21. She was a hair under 8 weeks at that point. Born August 1st on a farm in extreme northwest Jersey. The breeder had 3 females to choose from - she literally walked out of her house holding 3 puppies in her arms. Talk about a tough decision! Penny was the first one I held and definitely the sleepiest, thus she won the drive back to NYC. hehe ***warning extreme cute-ness below***

Playing on the farm:

My wife holding her in the car, she was perfect in the car except for when we hit some congestion due to 2nd Ave subway construction, and then she puked a tiny bit (Penny, not my wife, lol)

And this is what she did when we got home.

I believe this is the next day, another rough day being a puppy.

She couldn't pick a movie, decide to nap instead. (I would have gone with Star Wars IV, but hey, look at my username)

Still her favorite toy even though now she's 2x bigger. I call it Mr. Crocodilio. She protects me from angry crocs!

I call this her polar bear shot.

Apparently my feet smell less bad than I thought...

OK later I'll post some pictures from a few days later and some that are actually in focus and taken with the dSLR

Horrendous picture, but a good night. I watch TV/fall asleep, she snores in my ear. No complaints here.

I'm not joking when I say that I frequently can't bring myself to put her to bed at night. I just want to stay up all night and let her sleep on me That USED to be when I did reef maintenance. Guess what I've been slacking off on lately? LOL

I HAD been sitting on the couch. Then I got up (to feed the fish) and well...there goes my seat.

Her first puppy play group. This is the only other puppy that would really play with her.

This is one of, if not the best picture of her being cute-explosive. I have video of this too, I'll have to process it and get it on YouTube.

Awesome pup.
Funny how they all sleep constantly. Bought my gf a chihuahua and he's always sleeping on my stomach because of the big soft beer gut I have.

Great pup there definetly a lot of work we just picked up a lil maltese and he is a handful but the wife and I are trying to teach my oldest responsibility along with how tough it is to care for a pet

Thank you all I have more coming, don't you worry. We're only in early October with those pictures! Hopefully this weekend I can catch up posting before I add more from my wife's family coming to visit for Turkey Day when I'm sure to wear out the camera(s)

Last night we came back from a long walk. Both the wife and I went into the bedroom to change. I took off my shoes, no sooner than that Penny grabbed one and waddled out to the living room with it to her bed. LOL Eventually I took it from her and then sat down to watch TV. 3 minutes later Wife says to me "look". I look up, guess who is toddling out from the bedroom with the other shoe to that pair? LOL So I grabbed that one back, gave her the stuffed crocodile. Sat back down. 5 minutes later...guess who walks off with the flip flop I had been wearing but took off when I put my feet on the table? Triple LOL Then what followed next? The other flop from the pair of course!

At this point Wife is just laughing at me. I let Penny play with the flip flops though as they are mostly indestructible (and probably stink, if she wants to chew em...) I got my revenge though. Penny toddled off at some point, and Wife was reading. Guess what Penny comes out of the bedroom with? Yup, Wife's shoe! Vengeance is mine! I think at that point there were 5-7 shoes in or around her bed.

Jonny I have to dig it up at home, but I'll PM you tonight. She came from a nice woman in Jersey...Hacketsville or something like that. Near PA actually, about an hour out of the city, I think the exit was near the Delaware Water Gap. Just a woman/family who is a licensed/certified breeder. She had 2 pairs of Golden Retrievers with 2 litters...one pair is the normal rusty color, the other, Penny's parents, are the English cream variant that you see on Penny. She's all AKC certified and all that has a big house on what looked to be a farm - there was a horse run across the street. Definitely not NYC! LOL Good place though. I refused to go to a store or some kind of creepy puppy mill. I think breeding and selling these 2 pairs of golden's is her only income. She mentioned she had just taken on a trio of foster kids. I felt good buying from her...seemed like I was helping, if that makes any sense.
