Ebay doesn't care about what's posted for sale. There is a Chinese vender who openly sells wild collected ladyslipper orchids, stating that they are wild, which is a complete violation of CITES and likely to get the buyer major fines from USFW. Orchid growers ccomplain, nothing is done. BTW, many years ago, my son and his friend offered a single die as "the original game cube", offering a 2nd (a pair of dice, shown in the picture) for free. Bidding started at $0.01,ended at over $50. They refused to accept the money.....

Was it my comment? In my post? I wasn't referring to the guy selling Aiptasia (which is obviously a joke...all his other things are low priced) but to a vendor in China who is openly selling plants that are illegal to trade across international borders. The issue wasn't that he was Chinese, but that ebay was allowing the open sale of wild collected plants whose international trade is strictly prohibited. (Ladyslipper orchids are App. 1 of CITES...sale of plants of wild origin across international borders is illegal.) The country of origin and nationality of the seller is immaterial...Ebay allowing its open sale is the issue.

Uh huh. Anyway yea that's a pretty bold move by the aiptasia hustler.. be it a joke or real or an experiment. That message from easycoral that was posted was pretty Sociopathic if not a joke lol. Just shows some people are down to buy things just because they're expensive. Maybe he got people to bid on it to make it look in demand.
