Ok well since I have officially become F A T this spring it's going to be a lot of biking for me to lose 1/3 of myself. I really don't care where it goes as long as it leaves my body.

I did the whole hybrid thing- uncomfortable

I did the whole mountain bike thing- still kind of uncomfortable

Should I just go the comfort bike route and deal with riding a bike that looks like it was built for a 70 year old? And if so how comfortable are they really, especially on longer rides?

For those of you who have experience with them which would you favor over others out there?

I'm thinking its what I'll be stuck with. Due to my extensive past injuries and the fact that from the titanium in my extremities I'm limited on the amount of pressure I can endure on my shoulders and legs for periods of time.

This won't really help, but where are you biking? Any good trails in Nassau?

I've been trying to take my dog out running more (he needs the energy release and I need to get in shape). Would running be easier than biking?

Nah. Running isn't an option. After the amount of hardware and surgeries that's a no go.

Biking and walking are my 2 options.

There are some good trails in massapequa and the trail from a park in wantagh to jones beach.

I also have a couple of routes that I did on the other bikes I had that are big laps from my house that are about 7 miles or so.

You can start off my ditching the r1 and getting a cbr lol

The CBR 1000's I always hated- the seatpan felt like crap, they were under powered and the fact they made you use a steering dampener that they felt was best is garbage too. You spend 13K on a bike and they choose your equipment for you--CAA-CAA. I left MANY of them in the dust with my properly tuned Yamaha- 7 years of owning R1's and not 1 mechanical issue and I rode harder than you ever should on the street.

It's also the rider not the bike.
I was looking for opinions on something, not jokes about mototrcycles. I wrecked in '08 and broke both my legs, left ankle, destroyed my left shoulder and tore my spleen.

Was in ICU for 6 days and a regular room for 7, have had 5 surgeries.

The eliptical machine is also a no go, no room to put it. My gym days are over. I don't have enough good parts to make the membership worth the money.

This is why I just wanted opinions on the comfort bikes and which one to get.

LOL I'll get us a matching pair Russ. We can ride around Chester with the use of a monitor with footage recording with the wind blowing through my hair and your tupee from some fans chewing on red twizzlers:)

Dude, this mop is for real. All natural here. No Donald Trump doo :)

A matching pair would be good. Only thing is, we'd also need a tow rope, from your's to mine. Pull me along :eek1:
