IPhone or Droid?

Need a new phone this week just can't decide. I have a Droid not sure I wanna go IPhone.

I am iPhone 4 user and if I am getting new high end phone, I prefer Samsung Note2. The more I see my associates using them vs other associates using the iPhone 5, the more I want the Note2. Of course, this depends on what you need to do. I need a bigger screen to show pics to my clients and the much better drawing ability with the Note2. However, if you are going to use your phone like the way I use my iPhone4, either will do-I hardly use it as the screen is too small for me to surf and the signal is so bad in my area that I basically only use the Google no.

I am not an IPhone fan at all. I personally have a Samsung GS3. The Note II is a really nice device, but IMO it is meant for for business as Wingo says with the larger screen and where you have a stylus to write on the screen.


The GS3 is really like a smaller NOTE II without the drawing feature. Well the Note II also has the ability to true multitask.

If you are just looking for a new smartphone and not a tablet replacement, then the GS3 is a really good way to go. If you simply google GS3 v Iphone you will see that the GS3 wins in almost all categories.

And then there is the ability to actually plug it into a computer to transfer files and such without iTunes and their special wire.

If you are technical person the GS3 (well any android), give you the ability to root the phone and do what you want with it. I have my phone rooted and a custom ROM (Version of Jellybean) on my phone that takes off all the crap that Sprint installs and actually installs other good options (ROOTING IS DONE AT YOUR RISK).

So in the end you should lookd at the "iPhone Killer" the Samsung Galaxy S 3.

I went from a droid to the iPhone 5, I wish I went with something else instead. This is my first iPhone and will be my last, it doesn't offer any advantage over a droid but has more drawbacks.

I agree with everyone (including Jaa, for possibly the first time EVER) An android phone usually beats the iphone for most users. Cannot make blanket statements but if you do your research you will find what works best for you. I love the Gs3, I also have mine rooted and it does A LOT.

I use my phone for email, minor web surfing, news apps, forum apps, listening to music, finding locations and checking stuff like bank balances etc. My iPhone is perfect for my needs.

This thread is going to go back and forth. You will have people that are DIE HARD apple, and those who are ANTI APPLE. I have to say I am anti apple.

But it comes down to what you want to do with the phone. If you want to be able to actually have a device that is much more functional (ie dont need itunes, or a special cable to charge, and can root if you want), then an Android is the way to go.

If you don't care that you need to only use Itunes and have to carry your cord around, will just use the phone as is, then the Iphone may work for you.

So you will see both sides of the spectrum on this thread. The Android users will tell you to go android and the Apple users will tell you that Apple is the be all and end all, best invention since sliced bread, top of technology and that is the only way to go

Droid the iPhone had a edge when they first came out but there are few driod phone out right now depending on what u wanna do that got the iphone cook

Device Model: DROID RAZR MAXX HD by Motorola : Check out this phone before you purchase anything. BEST battery on the market. Galaxy III lives on a charger according to the guys who own them that i work with...BTW, i own one (RAZR MAXX HD) and absolutely love it.

i used to work part time for AT&T for about 2 years, i ended in september/october. as employees we are given the newest phone out(excluding apple) as our company official use device. i have played around with every android, blackberry, and windows device from at&t (my personal is an iPhone 5). every android phone i had gave me problems. i used the gs3 briefly, but didn't encounter any severe issues. iphones were RARELY returned whereas android devices were returned for iphones numerous times a day. the note 2 and gs3 imo have better features such as expandable memory which is a huge plus.

if i really had to pick, i would go with the iphone bc i've had one for over 4 years, i have every apple product in my house, and finally the issues i had encountered with android devices steered me away. however the note 2 looks very promising, and that might be the only phone i would switch for!

The only draw back to the iphone is that you are married to apple (as a consumer I hate apple, but god damn, what a business model!)

I had both. And currently love my iPhone.

Both have their advantages. But for me I like how the iPhone does not compress pics and video in messages. Group message is awesome. Camera takes incredible pics of my tank.

Yes iTunes is a pita. But apples Cust support and apple care is unmatched.

i have an iPhone 4s right now and i like it. If someone were to be buying a new phone i would recommend galaxy3 or note 2. the iPhone 5 is not really that much of a big deal compared to those phones.
One of the main reasons i like my is because the integration with my other apple devices at home(macbook pro, apple tv,iPad).

If you like the Driods - stay with the Droid. I caved to pressure on my last renewal and got the IPhone 4S.
I am underwhelmed.
I count the months until I can get rid of it.

Here's my input: Put it like this. If you want the Mercedes Benz of all phones, you get yourself an iPhone 5 from AT&T.
If u want a Dodge neon your self a Droid.

I was a huge android fan, since the 1st ever android the google G1 and then I got my hands on an iPhone 3gs, then had both evo htc & iPhone 4 and now a iPhone 5.

Here's my comparisons

- android phones allow u to go into pretty much any site and download files into ur phone or memory cards. Which has its ups and downs.
- iPhones are more limited in that sence, which protects you from downloading unwanted bugs.
- android allows u to expand memory, which is pretty cool
- The again the iPhones do come in 16gb,32gb & 64gb.
- android promotes how their battery life is so much better than the iPhone.
- that is major B . S . Even from when I Owned my last droid (htc evo) I could tell you, I had to take my charger with me everywhere and the battery tends to heat up super fast.
- apple has great customer service and they really stand by their products so if u have any problem with your device they will help you get the problem taken care of or replace it with no problem.
- my android had a freezing problem. They advertise how u can download all these cool apps but u download 10 apps and the phone is already running slow.
- IOS does not have that problem at all, I get immediate response. I tap an application and it opens right away. Another way to check this is by holding the iPhone 5 right next to a galaxy s3 the so called " iPhone5 killer "
And open 10 + apps on both devices play music and then browse the web and you will see how the iPhone gives you immediate response. 2out of the 5 times I did this test the droid froze.

-iPhone 5 makes life so much easier specially now with the Siri feature.

-Android has the new picture sharing feature, which allows u to share a picture by bumping phones (LOL)

You can do that from anywhere in the world with ur iPhone by using the photo sharing.


Here's my advice, try the both phones see which one you like better. Keep in mind u have upto 30 days to return either phones. At the end of the day it's ur choice and its what ever you feel happy with. Good luck

But it comes down to what you want to do with the phone. If you want to be able to actually have a device that is much more functional (ie dont need itunes, or a special cable to charge, and can root if you want), then an Android is the way to go.

Those are two major reasons why I would never go with an apple device- using a piece of software to do tasks as simple as copying files and not being able to charge the phone using micro usb cable. And I don't know why, but I always see somebody with a broken iphone screen...
