Why? Do you plan on showing the dog?Or was this done just for looks? Do you think its cool? Here's an idea. Take a little novacaine, inject it into YOUR ear lobes and than snip them off. Sew yourself up and pop a few Tylenol. Shouldn't hurt at all... Seriously

Not really. Some consider it a sport which may be the case. Don't know how sporting it is when you load every advantage in favor of the hunter but everyone has their hobbies. Bow hunt? At least that takes some skill.

It is not a standard for that breed and not needed to show. It was originally done to prevent the animal from getting hurt in dog fighting and while out hunting wild boar and such. The breed is also illegal in many countries still and as a matter of fact is still illegal in NYC if living in housing units.
As far as cropping goes this should sum

Yes i bow hunt
I dont load anything in my favor, i dont bait dont use trail cams dont even scout all year long,dont wear scent lok clothing,dont use a treestand

Just so everyone that thinks they know everything, cropping a dogs eat for that bread and just like pitbulls u should Do it to prevent a lifetime of eat infections and problems, I didint crop my dogs ears and I regret it, he had had a 4 year long ear infection that they can't do anything about and it's caused cuz if his flappy ears. Yeahs it's preferance to some ppl, but cropping ears is in no way shape or form cruel. There are many other things in this world that are cruel to animals and that's just not one of them so for everyone to talk the way they are is just wrong. Know your facts first.

And know yours also. This is not a pit and they are not probe to eat infections. You want to talk ear infections own a beagle or spaniel like I have. 9-10 vets will tell you its painful for the dog and is almost never done for medical reasons.
And its not cruel? Have you ever gotten a answer from a dog who had it done? If its not cruel why have so many countries banned the practice citing its inhumane reasons? Facts?

everyone has a right to their opinion and a forum by definition is a place to share those opinions. but STHILL has no obligation to answer to anyone and he does so out of respect to the MR forum which is always a good thing.
im just trolling along but I dont like to see names being thrown around. Think at the bigger picture. This dog is clearly being loved and being babied the way all dogs should. You guys want to make a difference? go help the dogs that are tied up with rope and left outside to eat rats. Its easy to act like you care just by moving your fingers along a keyboard. JUST IMO
my buddy has a gorgeous doberman and he didn't do his ears and he regretted it.
