Brooklyn travel

Need some help from the Brooklyn contingent. My daughter needs to go to President & Hoyt this weekend. She's thinking about driving. Is that a good area for her to drive (parking, safety, congestion) or should she take the subway? She'll be coming through Port Authority if the train is the decision. Driving, and she'll be coming from upstate.

Hope someone can help, we don't know Bklyn at all.

There's a lot of construction going on in the area so parking is tough, but doable with patience. If she chooses to take the train...she could take the "G" train to Carroll St. Just if she chooses to take the train...check www.hopstop.com/nyc for directions b/c they stay pretty much up to the minute with delays/changes.

If she decides to take the train, she can take the Brooklyn Bound "A" train from Port Authority to "Jay Street - Borough Hall". From there she will take the Coney Island Bound "F" train one stop to "Carroll Street" and walk 2 blocks.

Train is better. That neighborhood is nothing to worry about safety-wise. parking-wise I don't know.

The neighborhood is more than fine, it is very nice. 2 blocks from Z's old school. I don't recall parking being too much of an issue on weekends, but the train might be easier for her unless she is planning on heading home later in the evening in which case the car might make her more comfortable?

Got her squared away with a spot at one of the firehouses Randy. She'll need to take a cab a short distance because the house a few blocks from her destination is having their kids Christmas party at the firehouse that night so parking will be tight but another house will have a spot waiting for her

whether she'll be driving in and park somewhere or taking the train to port authority, if she needs a cab, i have a buddy that dispatches car service....safe and reliable. he can choose the best guy/girl for the job. the prices are pretty standard, perhaps a buck or two more than a yellow cab. you can name your time and location and they'll call you when they're there. much safer than street hailing late at night. imo.
