My son has it in his car. He loves it. There are a few issues though, it only works with App Radio-capable apps. There arent very many of them, but there is a navigation program that will work on the head unit display, and a few others that come from Pioneer. The first one he got was DOA but they eventually made good on it. There was some kind of a software bug and without an upgrade, the unit eventually bricked itself, and once it did that, you couldnt upgrade the firmware in the field any longer.
You wont need a CD player any longer because you can stick a ton of music on your Iphone, so I dont see any loss there. You wont be able to play video while the car is in motion unless you bypass the safety switch. That shouldnt bee a problem for you- I hope. The biggest downside is that when the iphone is not connected you essentially have nothing more than a very basic radio. That kind of stinks because Ive used his car a few times and dont have an iphone. So it there was no music, no navigation just AM or FM.
