Can't say im totally in favor of instant replay in baseball, but Tex was safe!

Lot of very un-Yankee like things being shown on news hoping for better results tomorrow. Thats the beauty of baseball

Definitely one of the worst calls ever.

The happiest guy about it though is CC...it's pulling attention away from another less than mediocre start from a guy getting 20 million per to be an ace. He's pitching like old man Freddy. Not good. I'm usually very confident...but my confidence has limits.

That wasn't a close call at first. Tex was blatantly safe. Slow down the replay and you see Tex's hand on the base and the ball still 3 feet from the glove.

Hope to see instant replay during the playoffs for questionable calls. Give the two opposing managers one or two red flags for challenges per game. If the call on the field stands, the manager challenging the call loses a red flag. If he wins the challenge, he keeps his red flag for another possible challenge.

Not going through September with the most confident feeling in the Bx this year.

The Yanks are pretty hurt by injury right now. I don't see this trend reversing, especially with the average age of the Yankees star players.

I agree for play offs with replay, but This was basically playoff baseball at its finest just a month early. MLB needs to get with times i guess, all the other sports have it

They need 1 more umpire. The 5th ump sits in the booth watching the game on the screens. He's in constant radio comm with the field umpires (well the crew chief at least). Every close play is automatically instantly reviewed, just like the NFL does now with TD's. (in case you didn't know that, EVERY TD is now reviewed, not just the last 2 minutes) No silly flags to wave, no challenges, no delays. The whole process will take 20 seconds. Baseball is perfect for this kind of replay because there is down time between plays anyway.

Also, the 5th umpire scores the game, thus eliminating this bs where the home team batter gets scored a hit or whatever to benefit their statistics. The way it is now, the official scorers are EMPLOYED by the HOME TEAM, which is utterly moronic and completely a conflict of interest.

Plus then the umpires get 5 guys in every game, which employs more of them, and their union will eat that up like my fish eat Prime Reef.

Totally agree....however, we'll never see replay in the regular season without at least a test in the post season. Here we are, weeks away from that opportunity and I just hope Bud Selig accepts that challenge and finally incorporates it into the routine.

You will never see Instant Replay in baseball, especially in the regular season. They are looking for ways to shorten the game not make them even longer. It is part of the game and they even out over the long run.

So the fact that they've already introduced instant replay for questionable HR's doesn't count?

Don't say never! It's already here. Now we just need to modify the rules. It will happen.

Yeah I was flipping out...almost waking my family up last night but glad they kicked their ass today!

Yeah they already have replay for homers, foul poles, things of that nature. They need to expand it, and have been talking about it, but Selig is dragging his rear end, as usual. It's inevitable that it's coming, just a matter of when and how they implement it.

Jeter and A-Rod need to carry the team for the next few months...

Just like soccer. They are trying to implement instant replay for the past 20 years. Are you kidding me. It will never happen. can you imagine a world cup final game stopping for instant replay? Smh
