Hey Russ FYI if you have cablevision:

I called Cablevision awhile back and asked about refresh rates. Here's what they told me:

Regular digital programming: 30hz
Most sports programming: 60hz
Recorded DVR:24hz

It also explained why NFL and MLB games look sick on HDTVs and regular programming looked flat.

Not sure what this means. My interpretation is that the above Cablevision (my cable company too) refresh rates are drastically slower than the advertised refresh rates of the televisions, so that would mean it's not worth the extra money to pay for a 240 hz refresh if the max signal is only 60 hz.
