Amen to that Jimmy! Especially the 9\11 heroes who gave there own life to help others at the WTC.

Memorial Day is more a day to remember our soldiers that have fought for our freedom throughout the history of this country.

Probably hitting manhattan to the memorials and watch the choppers do drills and pay respect to those who died , survived and still fight for this soil! Great thread Angelo ,it puts the daily life in perspective .

You mean like Christmas, Presidents day, Easter, Columbus Day, and the slew of other nation holidays that have lost all meaning and will continue to do so?

Some people need to be reminded each year or the men and women who gave their lives so that very person can eat grilled hot dogs, hamburgers and drink their a$$es off AND go to the air show this weekend will be forgotten. Never forget that freedom isn't free- unless you've served your country you didn't pay the tax so it's easy to forget.

One more thing

You don't have to enlist for any of the holidays you mentioned. Just remember half the kids dying in combat for us can't even legally drink a beer this weekend, but they are old enough to take a bullet for us.
