Anyone know of any fishing trips that leave from the NYC area? Full day, half day, etc. - if so are they any good? What do you catch?

Thanks!

There are tons of great party/ charter boats to go on, it really depends on the type of fish you want to catch. Right now your best bet is Striped Bass. Within the next few weeks Seabass and Fluke fishing will become hot. LMK what you want to catch and I can make a few reccomendations.

You can go to sheepshead bay in brooklyn. They have around 10 different boats.

I did this one long long time ago with my father. It was like 3 or 4 hours fishing trip and I got sick 30 minutes after boat left the dock. I remember I was unconcious for 3 or 4 hours. I was so happy when it came back to the dock.

Goodluck. Get some sea sickness pill if this is your first time.

I would be up for a trip if there is room... I haven't done anything this year as of yet. I am heading to Maine July 1st-8th to do some freshwater bass fishing. (http://www.whisperwoodlodge.com ) Its a really nice place to just get away for a week if you are into freshwater fishing (trout, bass, pickeral, perch).

But I need to get out on the ocean a few times this summer... Last year I spent most of my time in Point Lookout renting small rowboars with little engines to keep myself busy.

I'm heading out on a party Friday morning. PM me a reminder and I'll post the results. There are a lot of options in Sheasphead Bay, a couple in Gerritsen Beach, one in Howard Beach, City Island, and a bunch out on the Island. I try to go a few times a seasons since I dont have my own boat. I was actually supposed to go upstate to Lake Ontario camping and fishing for a week with my wife but I got pneumonia. Anyway here's a link of party and charters in the area.

Then there also shore fishing in Jamaica Bay right off of Floyd Bennet. I haven't done it in a few years, but as soon as I get some new rods I want to hit it. Theres also Smitty's in Jamaica Bay that rents skiffs. I dont have the site handy but you can google it.
