Viet Nam Veterans Day

Today is National Viet Nam Veteran's Day if anyone is interested.
Yes it is really a National holiday but you still have to go to work. Well, I don't but most people do. :tank:

My dad was in Vietnam and that's the most he has ever said about it

Your Dad is a smart man.
I don't put this post up every year just because I am a Viet Nam Vet. The holiday was just started last year and I want people to remember it and honor all Veterans for what they did.
Viet Nam Vets were never recognized for serving because the war was so unpopular, but now they are starting to be remembered.
The war was over 40 years ago and many of those Vets are now gone.
We lost about 69,000 Americans in those few years and they should not be forgotten as well as the ones still with us.

Paul, happy Vets day my friend from one former soldier to another. I didn't have to do any deployments in my four years in the Army July 20, 1995-July 19, 1999.

Thanks for what you guys did back then.

You guys got a bad rap by the people back here when you came home. Again, glad you made it through it and I'll always respect you for it.

I recently read "The Things They Carried" by Tim O' Brien. Great book about the Vietnam war. Great emotional sense in the book.

I was still a kid during most of the Vietnam War, and a teenager by the time it ended.
I had a few friends that did make it back in 1 piece including my now husband..
Some of my friends came home for ever changed.;( Some so bad of that I remember 1 of them pulling me down while he scooted under a car because of a car's back fire.

You should all have been received back home with parades, and honor by all!!! Know that there were those of us that did/and still do think of all that served as HEROES......
