Reef encounter in Hackensack NJ.
The car ( what's left of it) in font of the store was transporting an o2 tank when it ruptured....

Now this guy is the real deal rofl....emphysema + a smoker + 7 o2 tanks ....He's not kidding around LOL

I'm seriously wondering how strong this dude's lungs are...btw did he survive this explosion?

I think this thread should be renamed, instead of beware of 02 tanks...

CAUTION! Beware of smoking emphysema patients that are transporting their oxygen supply while driving on a crowded highway...Btw, if this exploded while he was waiting on a red light, the driver in the neighboring car would of S%&* his pants, guaranteed

Ahhhh emphysema is irreversible let him live it up lol

Yeah, but stopping smoking can significantly slow disease progression (and therefore extend lifespan and quality of life), so he's still a moron for continuing to smoke...especially around O2 tanks!

Hackensack fire officials say an emphysema patient accidentally caused a car explosion when his cigarette ignited gas from a leaking oxygen tank inside the vehicle.

Fire Chief Matt Wagner tells the newspaper that seven oxygen tanks were in the car's back seat, and apparently just one was leaking.

Was he chain smoking? Or chain inhaling?

Going to assume we're talking about the small O2 tanks since 7 decent sized tanks would have taken out the cars nearby and at the very least blown out the windows of the store. I doubt the driver walked away from this one, just look at the damage to the roof line from the concussion not to mention the shrapnel from the tanks.

I believe that they were larger tanks. One of them went through the front window of Reef Encounter. The other went through the roof and landed on the roof of the bulding. Flourescent lights in a building across the street exploded with the force.

The driver was pulled out of the car before the explosions.

I still think its funny the misconception about oxygen it is not flammable so a leaking o2 tank in the car did not cause the fire. And all tanks have a safety on them so if the pressure get to high it releases the pressure so i find it hard to believe that the o2 tanks were the main cause. if the guy was living in the car who knows what else was stored in there.
