I know many of you are animal lovers so just want to give my dog a little love. Just got back from having her cremated.
She passed away last night around 3am. Has been sick for over a week since she ruptured a disc in her back. Tried everything to treat her, but in the end we're just glad we got to spend a few more days with her. She couldn't move or make any sounds for the past week, but last night she was barking to get our attention. She wanted to be held and while she was being held she looked at each of us for literally a few minutes at a time. I believe it was her way of getting the family together to say goodbye for one last time. She did so much for my family.
At least she's not in pain anymore~~~~~~~~

I am so sorry for your loss Akma!!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I know the look she gave you was to tell you that it was ok, she knew it was time to go. There is no doubt that she loved you as dearly as you love her.

My heart is broken for you.

Thanks guys. Been a pretty crappy day.
Bit too emotional right now. Thought I would be ok but i've been tearing all day.
My pops actually seems to be the most affected. I have never in my life seen him cry until this morning.

House seems so quiet without her. I'm used to coming home every night and having her sit in my lap for a few minutes. She was always happy to see any of us come home. Hopefully it'll get better as time goes by.
