Hey there,
My partner and I are hoping to FINALLY close on an apt. in Brooklyn.
It's been a long process and we're still only 90% sure this will happen.
Anyway, I need to come up with a list of movers. Here are the details:
1. We are generally broke so this move should not cost a lot (considering all of the costs of this apt, etc).
2. I need my stuff moved from my apt. in NNJ 07104 to the new apt. in Brooklyn.
3. She lives in South Brooklyn right now and would need her stuff moved to the new place.
4. She also has a storage unit in Edison NJ we need brought to the new place.
5. We would like all of this to be accomplished in one day (on a Saturday). We estimate (with traffic) that this would take 5-8hrs (but just to load and unload would probably take 2hrs)
So, the truck needs to hold...4-5 rooms of furniture?
We don't need boxes/wrapping supplies
My apt. has an elevator
Her apt. is on the 1st floor
The new apt. is on the second floor (storage is on the basement level)
In the past I've used moving companies that market on telephone poles with rates of $17-20 per man per hour, etc. I used to see the little adverts all of the time but can't find them as much any more. I always had good results using those companies.
