hey guys i ordered kent phosphate sponge 5 gal size from their website and paid via payapl. Below are some pics that i took today from their site and my paypal invoice. i got the product today and it was 1 gal size they sent me so i sent them e mail since they don't have phone service available only way to reach them is via email. i got reply back for TOM saying that its system error that its showing 5 gal. but he will give me better price on something else that i will buy next time form them just to make up for this so just to try his words out i gave him name that i wanted to buy which cost 12.00 from them and he said there is nothing he can do with that price then i asked him since its problem in your system i want to return it and he email me back that he will refund me cost of product not shipping and i have to eat the cost of the return shipping and on top of that he will charge me 15% restocking. this is so rip offfff . rule of businesss honor the advertied price period regardlesss of what the error is. please advise me what should i do.

i would take the hit, return it get your money back minus the 15% and move on. you did your part and warned everyone about this stupid company who should go out of business. i would also report them to the better business bureau.

The BBB is a JOKE and a waste of time... Did you check with the BBB before you ordered... No?.... Don't feel bad, Nobody does!
They are useless and can do nothing to help anyone! They protect their paid members and have no power over non- members.

Just playing Devils Advocate; Didn't the price of $43.00 for 5 gallons seem out of whack when you placed the order? The normal price range is between $100-130. That would have been my first red flag before ordering.

What DT did wrong is ship you a 1 gallon size. They should have never completed the order to begin with.

Did you open a case with Paypal?

Not sure why you would even order from them. ThatPetPlace, Pet Solutions, DrForsterSmith all are cheaper, or will match prices, and they're close enough that you can ship ground and get the order the next day, well that's true for ThatPetPlace and Pet Solutions DrForsterSmith may take an extra day or so.

Plus they advertise on the site, which it's always good to support someone that helps support the site.

BBB has worked for me twice already in the past. None of the two vendors where assosiated with them. One of the vendors was a furniture store that was giving me a hard time for $5k. As soon as I contacted the BBB, they started contacting the furniture store and sending them letters. I got my money back really fast after that. The BBB did ask for a donation, I sent them $20.
The second vendor (Fish store) I threaten them by telling them that I was going to report them to BBB for false advertising and was going to leave bad feedback through Google's. They also refunded me my money quick. Some business's do not want a bad reputation out on the web. Send them an email with a link to this thread and see how they respond. They will realize how many potential customers they will be loosing if they don't make things right. I understand about the mistake in price, but charging you 15% restocking fee is just ridiculous.

And i would like the opportunity to tell our side of the story..

What ravi197699 has so inconveniently forgot to mention to everyone is that it was not a system error that caused this problem it was one of our suppliers that had the wrong info on the item (which now has been corrected) and was in fact sent the wrong item. We told him that he could return it back to us but he said....

" Can you plesae send me return lable so i can send it back please because for there is better price online for 1 GAL size with free shippng. "

He did not even ask for the correct one to be sent to him.

So i told him he would have to pay for the shipping back to us and there would be a restock fee since he did not want the correct one sent to him as our return policy does state.

another thing he falsely said was....

Which is untrue..He emailed us if we could do better on the price of Ultralife red slime remover..which normally we sell for $13.65 and i told him i could sell it to him for $10.99..so he lying to you when he said there was nothing we could do.

What he also forgot to tell all of you is that we did offer a full refund on the item and a refund for him on both shipping costs..one to have it shipped to him and then a refund for him to ship it back to us. Plus we agreed to wave the 15% restock fee when in fact he was really only returning it because he found it cheaper and with free shipping.

We did everything we possibly could have done to make him happy..full refund..refund on both shipping charges..and a discount of the red slime remover and other items if he wanted. What more could he expect.

Everyone here should get both sides of the story before you throw businesses under the bus so fast.
