Trip to Washington DC

In a couple weeks I am going to be taking my family (wife, and 2 daughters 6&8) to Washington DC for a few days. I have never been there before.

If anyone else has, is there anything that is a "must see" or good places to eat?

We will be hitting the popular places and going on White House Tour.

And if anyone has a place to eat on the "way down".

Been there twice can't remember the names of the places we went to eat since it was years ago but this might help as far as attractions and such go:

Visit the national crime and punishment museum or the air and space museum. We've been to both and they were both great family attractions.

The National Aquarium is terrible, I wouldn't even waste my time.

There are a lot of good restaurants though.

That bad huh? Went long time ago.. I went Camden and one near cyclones this past summer with fam... I thought they were just ok. People at Camden aquarium were pissing me off a bit

IF you can make it out to Bethesda there is a real good crab/shrimp restaurant. Nothing like some MD blue crabs.
Plenty of places to eat in and around DC. Plenty of things to see as well. Just really depends on what you want to do and see. I lived in DC during my college years and its a nice place to visit.... in small doses.

Well we will be the typical Tourists.. When we went to Baltimore we went to Bo Brooks Crab Place, kids loved. it... Do yo uknow the name of that restaurant?

Don't go to aquarium my tank would have been the nicest display there that's not saying much!

The Mint is a worthwhile visit as is the Washington Monument but I don't know if it is open (it was damaged in the earthquake).

The Monument may never open again. My 6 year old is upset about it, it was the ONLY thing that she wanted to do there.
