My sister in law was a vet at the ASPCA and Georgie was brought in with a leg that had been cut off by it's owner. They treated him and the infection cleared, but because he's a 3 legged pit, it would be hard to get him adopted so my sister in law took him in.
He is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met, but is very energetic, and is difficult to manage at times because of it. They now have a baby, and while he wouldn't intentionally attack anyone, he's not aware of himself and the damage he can do.
He is great with other dogs, and great with cats. My sister in law is a vet (although no longer with the ASPCA), and so all of his shots, etc. are completely up to date.
This isn't a dog for just anyone, as he does have some issues, but if you think you can provide it a good home, let me know and I'll put you in touch.
P.S. She has tried everything imaginable to keep the dog and has agonized over this for months. This is a dog with some issues with an owner that would do anything to avoid this, so please avoid the comments on how she should be able to make it work.
