So, I'm about to hook up my sub in my new suv, but behind my navigation in the truck, I do not have those 2 plug in parts that usually plug into the back of the head unit. Those 2 wire, I forget the name, but the one that is usually white and blue or red and white or whatever. Someone told me I can use something else to plug into it to hook it up... What is it that I need? He said some power inverter or something?

Get an RF Converter and splice it in, This is what we used to do back in the day. The output isn't as clear as it would be if it was directly in the head unit but it works. Its quite simple, usually a rear speaker wire works.

if you're running from the head unit..and you're putting a sub in..you can cheat...
just use a line tap and tape into the speaker line that runs to the amp that you have for your interior speakers... if your interior speakers don't use an amp..then just tap the line by the closest speaker to where you're putting the amp for your box...really simple to do...
BUT for best sound quality and not changing your head unit... you def need to get a bass control unit.... you'll be playing with your EQ all day unless you have something to at least control your box on the fly.
