If you can't even find the site of the tick bite, chances are you're fine. But as other's have pointed out, Lyme and other tick diseases don't always present immediate symptoms. Since you don't have the tick, go to your Dr. Chances are, he'll recommend testing for Lyme every 2 weeks, for 4-6 weeks. Or he may just give you a 2 day dose of doxycycline, which apparently works well to prevent Lyme if taken right after the bite. In the future- KEEP the tick. Its very important. I get ticks on me occasionally. Twice in recent years they have been imbedded. Both times I kept the tick. First was the common dog tick, which, believe it or not, I got right here in my own neighborhood, Rego Park. A few days after I removed it, I got a large bruise. I knew it wasn't a deer tick, but I got tested for Lyme anyway, and got a Rx for antibiotics that I didn't need to take in. 2nd time was at my summer place out on LI, and I knew it was a deer tick. I removed it in the morning, and saw my Dr in the afternoon. Already by then I had a 2" diameter dark red bruise. He said it was the beginning of what would eventually become the "bull's eye", and put me on doxycycline right away. While the tick was positive for lyme, my tests were negative because I was treated so soon.
