Hi,

I need a good honest mechanic in the bx or manhattan. I was planing on taking the car to the dealer or doing it myself but i dont have the time or tools. Besides the dealers take forever!!!!

If anyone knows one please pm the info.

personally and nothing against mom and pop shops but you also get what you pay for, and thats a full day job, if you made a appt with the dealership to drop off in am or night before should be done same day

The dealership changed my oil in 2 hours... and didnt even wash my car. I think for minor work a regular shop is fine.

Otherwise, i might just have to drive to my uncles house and do the work myself. I just need to find the time; i should start looking for that just incase...

did u have an appt for the oil change or just show up ? not trying to be funny in asking as i worked at a dealership. and when it comes to brakes i dont trust alot of people or places, and using the right pad is a wise choice not the cheapest like most shops will do

+1 did my brakes on one of my cars at a local place by me and they didnt even put the shimmy kit in. Every time i hit the brake it would shake.. Had to do it all over again.. U live and u learn...get it done right the 1st time and it will not cost u double the work and time.

I did have an appt for 8am... And i wasnt even the only one that was waiting so long for simple jobs like changing oil.

The reason i put up this thread was for someone to recommend someone to me so that i dont have to go to just anyone.

Any recommendation on good pads? This is the first time i change the pads on this car. Before this car i had a 2001 mustang GT and used hawk pads, but then came the family and had to sell...

You my need Rotors to if you go to a shop have them mic the rotors and see if there in spec . those rotor cant be cut there composite so you my need new ones

batt rotors can be cut ,unless they are warped or under speck.
dont purchase aft market they are noisy and wont last
