Hey everybody...my girlfriend's German Short Hair Pointer gave birth to 9 beautiful puppies 4 weeks ago, 9/30/2010. From what I know, the dad is all brown (friend's dog) and the mom (girlfriend's dog) is white with brown blotches. Pure German Short Hair Pointers. The puppies are adorable and the mom is an awesome hunting dog which is what most people want these dogs for. I know some of them are spoken for but 4 are definitely going to be for sale. They will be ready to be picked up in about 4-8 weeks and they will have their first set of shots. The asking price is $1,200 per dog and it must be picked up in Mahopac, NY 10541 or I can take one down to my house and have it picked up here in New Rochelle, NY 10801. If anyone is interested please let me know and I could send some pics. Thanks, Fortunato

yes in order to have paper and be a pure bred that is recognized as pure bred both parents need to have papers on them then they are filed for the pups. love the pointers, use to raise beagals and blue ticks when i was younger. also u know what color the pups are ?

The pups are brown with really dark brown spots. They're already eating solid puppy food soaked in puppy formula.

is this really necessary? like really though....did anyone ask?

The dogs were bred because my gf's dad is an avid hunter and the mom (his dog) is about 6 years old and he wanted a puppy to start training so she can retire from hunting. The dogs were not forced to mate. He's part of a hunting club and a friend of his from it happened to have the same dog. The friend brought it over and that's it, it all happened naturally...

The reason why people are asking about the dogs papers is that alot of people who pay 1200 bucks for a dog wanted the paperwork to back up the health of the blood lines.

I am 29 years old and have GSP's is a family tradition. Our have all come from people like your gfs father but with papers. Alot of people will buy two dogs and breed them to make cash, this isnt the case here but u know how people are.

I asked because the gsp club of america recommends it.

How does the akc papers back up the health of the bloodlines?

AKC papers do not mean a damn thing (and so easy to create fake/false papers). Papers doesn't mean your dog is healthy and it doesn't mean your dog conform to the breed standard. You can get a dog from a pet store or any back yard breeder with akc papers. But would you buy a dog from a pet store or back yard breeder? I sure do hope not! You only need papers if you plan on showing your dog.

You should only buy from a reputable breeder that breeds for conformation, temperament and health. Back yard breeders are only out to make a quick buck and not to better the breed.

Don't litter. Spay and neuter your dog! :irked:
