Nikon Nikkor 105 mm Micro lens

Well, bought the lense with my D90 a while ago and have only used it once for all of about 4 pictures. Realized what photos I do take the 18-105 is more than fine for me. Am lookin to sell the lense, its in perfect and I mean PERFECT condition I am also including a tripod in the price for the lense. Another thing I just dont need. Here are a couple of pics of the lense. The tripod is an ok tripod, its a Carson tripod.

Im asking $650 for the lense and tripod. I paid $950 for it so I figure this is a fair price. The price is for the lense, Im basically throwing in the tripod for free so the purchaser will be hopefully more than happy with the deal. If you dont want the tripod the price is still $650 for the lense only.

I'm a noob about DSLR & lenses. I bought the wife a D3100 recently and was looking at Juice's 60mm Nikor micro but by the time a few questions exchanged on the thread, it was sold.
Can you tell a noob like me what the 105mm will do vs the 60mm? Don't know if this is what the wife needs, thx.

What the camera shop told me was that the 105mm compared to the 60mm will have the same magnification- if using a 60mm you have to be around 6 inches to the object your shooting-aka focus distance- the 105mm the focus distance is 1 foot so you can be 6 inches or so further away from what your shooting. I tried takin some shots without using the tripod and it was impossible for me- my hand isnt steady enough- so the lense and tripod shed be able to get great shots.

Wow great price. Where were you a year ago? It's a great lens. I use it for quite often (mainly portraits).

Too bad I would have bought it in a heart beat Jimmy. Free BUMP!! This is an awesome lens for a great price people. I like it better than the 60m

in that case i'll take it.....just for the free water change and top offs....i don't even have a dslr....hahahaha.

wow what a deal....$12.50/week for water changes....don't need the top off...ato takes care of that.

Dude dont rip your self off selling it back to the store! keep the lens unless you really need the $$$. you can use that lens to shoot portrait too you know.
