check your local autozone, they usually rent tool like that.

I was going to try your method NYReef but the strut housing is constructed so that if I torch the nut it will melt the insulating rubber causing me more problems. Thanks guys.

No, no, no, Rick mentioned to me a while back to heat up the nut to loosen it from the strut but I choose not to do that because the nut is recessed on the mount plate surounded by a rubber bushing. So my next move is the impact drill. And I am a good neighbor damnit. :screama: We are grilling all the time :chefico:, got two :dog:'s running around and of course plenty of homebrew ----> :givebeer:
