canon t3 or t3i w/ lens

hey, i am interested in getting this camera as my starter into dslr.
want something that is upgradeable (relatively) and has tons of info online.

I'm not interested in buying for pretty close to what I could get it for brand new i.e. t3 has some sale sites under 300 now and the t3i on bhphoto is 399 brand new, so I'm not likely to pay the same.

now if yours comes with extras we can talk


anyway, pm is the best way as this site does not work on my work computer, so i don't check very often.


if you want to suggest a really great and safe site etc to buy from that'd be cool too. Right now i would consider ebay because of the paypal policy.
Also, I have a friend at work that is deep into the photography hobby (thousands deep) and is knowledgeable to help me figure out if something is broken, etc.

If it's just a camera that is for taking pictures of your tank used might be the way to go. If you are going to do other stuff with it, such as take snowboarding or whatever. You should also conceder the Cannon warranty or the store warranty.

The lens makes as much of a difference as the camera body. Your photography friend can explain.

If your planning on shooting video with it. The t3i doesn't autofocus while recording. FYI

Can't go wrong new. Or get it used and buy a 50mm 1.8. That way u have two great starter lenses.

Amazon had a nice deal on the t3i, 18-55mm lens and a 32gb card for in the 400-450 range. Pretty sure you also get a bag.
